After the yes

The sale does not end at the close. How to prevent buyers remorse and keep your deals from leaking away.

The sale doesn't end at close.

It ends when they get value from what they bought.

Everything between the close and them getting that value is about making sure they don't disappear and don't second guess themselves.

Here's how you follow up so deals don't die.

Immediate confirmation.

The moment they commit, you confirm everything in writing. Message them within the hour. Subject line: "You're in. Next steps."

Restate their commitment. The program they bought. The investment. The start date.

Send them any documents they need to sign. Ask them to confirm receipt.

You don't send this to be annoying. You send this because second guessing starts the moment the call ends.

You're interrupting that second guessing with immediate confirmation and forward momentum.

The reinforcement loop.

Between the commit and the start date, you reach out every few days.

Not to ask if they're still in. To add value.

Send them something they can read or watch. Tell them what to prepare. Get them excited.

This is keeping them warm. This is making sure the certainty they built doesn't leak away.

The first interaction.

The first time they interact with you or your product after they buy, it has to be great.

It has to exceed what they expected.

You answer emails fast. You're organized. You're professional. You're helpful.

Every interaction confirms that they made the right decision.

Staying connected.

After they start, you don't go dark.

You check in. You ask how it's going. You offer help. You remove obstacles.

You stay present. They're going to hit moments where they second guess themselves or they get frustrated or they want to quit.

If you're there, they'll push through.

Leveraging the success.

When they start seeing results, you document it.

You get permission to use their story. You get them to record a testimonial. You get them to refer others.

This is where the leverage is.

Each person who gets value becomes proof that creates more sales.

The follow up framework is not complicated.

It's consistent attention to making sure the deal doesn't leak away and the customer gets exactly what they paid for.
